Petersen Jr. My
hometown is Hamburg,
New Jersey,USA. My
favorite place to ride
is at Diablo Freeride
Park, at Mountaincreek,
in Vernon,New Jersey.
I got started in Downhill
mountainbiking in 1997. First
called Jan Karpiel in
October of 1997, asking
about the picture of
his Disco Volante featured
in the new Bike section
of Mountain Bike magazine's
October '97 's new bike
section. That picture
had SnowCat rims on
the Disco Volante bike!
Huge rims! After the
talk with Jan he made
for me my first Disco
Volante, winter of '97-'98.
I then started racing
the Disco Volante in
the NY. State Plattekill
series, taking the #2
overall title for the
year in the 34-39 sport
class. Raced a few
nationals that year
and placed, at Seven
Springs (#6), Mt.Snow
trail 66 series (#5)
and Mt.Snow Norba nationals
(#5), in the 34-39 year
old sport class.
Have purchased 4 Disco
Volante's and 2 Armageddon's
over the years since
then. The last Armageddon
is set up for my motorcycle
forks (Kiaba forks,11
inches of travel) with
a longer front triangle
and steeper head angle,
to fit my long arms.
Ever since 9/11/01,
I've decorated my bikes
in red, white and blue
American flag colors. At
the US Open here in
Mountaincreek NJ. in
May of 2006, my picture
was taken of me and
my patriotic Armageddon.
It later appeared in
the September issue
'06 issue of DECLINE
magazine. Love all
of the bikes. I am a
retired racer,but an
avid freerider every
year,and love jumping!
Have jumped 60 feet
at Plattekill on my
first Disco Volante!
Looking forward to my
APOCALYPSE, JAN !!
